Application to be a Freelance Tourguide

Hi! Thanks for your interest in SL Tourguides! If your application is successful, you will become a Freelance Tourguide for SL Tourguides. A commission of 20% will be payable on your tour income and we would need to reserve the right to alter that percentage in the future.

In order to be a Freelance Tourguide you need to full fill the following criteria:

1. Have payment information on file.
2. You need to have been in-world for at least 3 months
3. You need to be spending on average 15 hours a week or more in Second Life.
4. You must be comfortable using Voice Chat through Skype or our Team Speak server when giving a tour.

Do you meet all of these criteria?*

To be a tourguide you must also give a tour to one of our Official Guides who will decide whether or not the tour is suitable. This will cost L$2000 if the tour runs for an hour or less and another L$1000 for every half hour block after that. This is a risk on your part as you may not be accepted and even if you are, we do not guarantee that we will have work for you.

Are you prepared to proceed on this basis?*

If you wish to be a Tourguide:

01. You will not offer your own or any other escort services to the client.
02. You agree not to ask for or accept any commissions or gifts from anyone in connection with a tour.
03. You agree not to attempt to sell, recommend or promote your own products or services or those of third parties to clients, even after the tour is finished.
04. You agree to join the SL Tourguides group if your application is successful.
05. You agree to show the Freelance Tourguide Title whenever on a tour.
06. You agree to put the following words in the first four lines of your Second Life profile.
“Freelance guide for SL Tourguides”
07. You agree to include SL Tourguides in your picks.
08. You promise not to compete with SL Tourguides by conducting tours on your own or for others
09. You agree that at all times you will:
* Act in the best interests of SL Tourguides and avoid situations where your interests conflict with the interests of SL Tourguides.
* Maintain the confidentiality of all information given to you by Clients.
* Comply with directions or policies issued by SL Tourguides
10. You understand that SL Tourguides may, for its own reasons, revoke your status as a Freelance Guide, in which case you will have to remove all references to the business from your profile immediately.
11. You accept that you are acting as an independent contractor to SL Tourguides, not an employee of SL Tourguides and that you are not authorised to make representations on behalf of or act as an agent of SL Tourguides.
